Hi Folks! I listen to, you could say, a fair amount of radio. It's all very well for people to have their favourite stations, but what about their favourite shows?
I used to have a favourite show on Classic FM till Aled Jones moved over to the BBC to do two show, both on Sunday, but one was on BBC Radio 2 and the other's BBC Radio 3. I like Chris Moyles show on BBC Radio 1 because of all the wind-ups, jokes and naughty stuff going on! lol. i like the comedy shows on BBC 7 at three AM when i can't get off to sleep and can't come back in here on the PC to pass the time of the small hours, so I occationally listen to that. O and I almost forgot, The Paul Miller Show, which everyone here on The Zone will be able to listen to, round the world, thanks to BBC Radio Berkshire going digital last year! yayayayayay! It is on 10 PM to 1 ~AM UK time. It's just a barrellful of chuckles from beginning to end, and is broadcast from studios in Southampton. The Web address you need, is www.bbc.co.UK/Berkshire. That should get you on the home page. If it doesn't, I couldn't appologize enough. I'm very easy going. and like all sorts of stuff really, as long as it's either funny, happy, naughty or has the ability to chill me out or send me to sleep at night..

PM on Radio 4 at 5pm presenter Eddie Mair, has a very dry sense of humour and a great approach. Classic FM Simon Bates who I have always liked.

But i would also say before i use to listen to opie and anthony a lot i use and still kind of love Don and Mike. D & M were funny but do not listen to them anymore because they broadcast out of Washinton. And they use to be sindicated hear in new york but not anymore till everyone got fired because of opie and anthony off that radio station.

And Yeah ron and fez use to be really good. I mean, they are doing great on satellite but show seems kind of boring to me.

Mark Goodier went over to Classic FM Kay. Yeah, Paulie's got a new competition on now. It's basically this wheel of fortune thing where he's got twenty numbers between 10 and 30. You have to ring the show and if you're lucky, you get called back. You then ask him to spin his lucky wheel then stop the wheel and whatever number it stops at, counts later. He'll then ask you a really simple question, like "what is the name of the young lion in the Lion King?" You'd of course, answer Simba, and then he'd look in the little envelope (which also contains the simple question sorry) and pull out another little slip. Now this is where the number come in. You then have to name between 10 and 30 things in a minute, and it could be anything in the whole wide world out there, so have your thinking caps on. You'll always win a prize if you answer the simple question right and you can name the required number of things in one minute, that's 60 seconds. What you've won will also be on a little slip of paper in the envelope.

My four favorite radio stations now are Flash 92.1 FM, 93.7 Jack FM, 96.9 The Eagle and 98.5 98 Rock all out of Sacramento. Flash is awesome because it plays a lot of great 80's music, although now they've added things from the 90's and more recent adult contemporary stuff which kind of sucks, but it's good they have variety like that and their DJ's are awesome. Staci Anderson is my favorite on there because she has a show called Chicks Who Rock on Saturday nights where she plays all this 80's hard rock and hair metal and the cheesy stuff you hate to admit you love. Jack FM has no DJ's and plays a huge variety but they play commercials, blergh! The Eagle is our classic rock station and Bob Keller and Tom Nakashima are awesome in the early and late afternoons. Bob Keller always has this... what does he call it... Rock Cafe, that's it, at lunch where he plays the sound effects of a busy diner with people chattering, plates clanking, and stuff and then takes people's requests and does special things. Tom Nakashima had this feature for awhile called Back Rockwards, don't know if he has it anymore, but he'd play a clip of a song backwards and if you guessed it, you'd win something, and then they'd play the whole song forwards. 98 Rock has declined a little, in fact, they've been on the decline ever since they moved from being 93.7 93 Rock to 98 Rock. 93 Rock was the golden days! We had the Rise Guys, who were extremely hilarious! They'd do parodies of hard rock songs and play jeaopardy with callers with questions you wouldn't normally hear on the TV show, they'd do funny voices and have their own characters like Raunchy Ralph and Mrs. Brapsteen. They're on an AM radio sports station now, which sucks, but I forgot to mention The Eagle syndicates Mark & Brian who are equally as funny! DJ's on 98 Rock who are good now are Pat Martin, who's been there since the first days of 93 Rock in the late 80's, Craig the Dog-Face Boy, the new guy in the late afternoons, and Joe Maumee in the evenings, plus they have a show called Ear Whacks where they play everything from indie alternative garage band stuff to extreme death metal and some black metal. I was going to end this post, but I have to do a buttplug here and make a zoner feel special. The other radio station I like is http://www.kool360.com especially now on Saturday afternoons and Sunday evenings with the show Anything Goes hosted by Eddie Renegade a.k.a. renegade_rocker!

I'm more of a internet radio listener. Especially when I get bored of hearing my play lists alot. I listen to Kool360.com. A friend of mine has his own show called Anything Goes. So I listen to the radio when his show is on or when I need a mixture of artists and not the same ones I listen to alot.

Hey all!!! Since I didn't reply to this topic, (but thought I did) my favorite radiostations first off-would have to be, definatly online stations, because in my opion (SP?) none of the stations in my area are horrible!!!! So, the ones I listen to all the time would have to be: WLIT 93.9 in Chicago, Il, (love that station!!) I'm a big fan of the Melissa Forman show (Melissa does mornings 5-9 AM) she's so nice, and so down to earth. And that station plays great tunes, and has awesome DJS like Melissa! I also am a big fan of Drew Walker!!! (they just recently got there stream online which I'm excited about!!!!!!!!!)! (Drew is from WUSN) in Chicago also. I've just recently started listening to his show, and I love it!! : ) Then there's Delilah, who I have been listening to--ironicly since I went to tech camp for the blind in the Summer of 1999 was the first time I heard her show. (I was 9!) and have been listening to her show ever since. (I once did speak to her and she's also wickid nice!!!!!) she's awesome, she also puts me to sleep at night! lol
Then there's WOBM in Toms River, NJ! I grew up in TR, so it's awesome to hear my "Hometown station" online! I like to listen to Shawn Michaels and Sue Moll part of the Oceancounty breakfast show. Well, that's all! So as for my favorite radio broadcasters, Melissa Forman from WLIT-Chicago, Drew Walker from WUSN-Chicago, Delilah (Syndicated), Sue Moll and Shawn Michaels from WOBM. Good topic! -Amber

just hopping on this topic to throw my hat in with the chris moyles fans. it's an extremely amusing show. i first came across him when he was doing the 3 through 6 slot in the afternoons on radio one and have enjoyed his and comedy daves stuff ever since. i think the best ever broadcast they did was during the world cup of 2002, the afternoon after england had beeten argentina 1-0 in the morning. the whole nation was in a state of post match euphoria and nothing encapsulated that feeling better for me than their afternoon show that day. very good radio indeed.

I forgot about Delilah, we get her here too and I like to listen to her sappy love songs as she puts them. There was one caller who called in and said her little daughter has her on before bed and argues with her mom about staying up, saying one more song and two Delilahs, that's what she calls it when Delilah talks to callers and stuff, lol! She's a bit heavy on the religious God-worship stuff for me, but she's got a good heart and I enjoy hearing stories on her show. I heard one at Christmas about a family who broke away from dysfunction and had nothing and had found support and their supportive friends didn't show up when they went to see them and they went back home and there was their support network with the perfect Christmas dinner, a tree, lots of presents, etc. Delilah's great.

well I like alot of internet radio.
particularly alot of shows on the beyond radio network www.tbrn.net, most of which are hosted by users of this sight. Shows like the louis bin, by freakyfwoof, things and stuff, by borris, wdgl fm by derek, not sure what his zone name is, the default show which is done by tj who manages the zone lj comunity, and deraitland a not exactly professional but well done show by caitlin and derek. of course I enjoy venison stew, for just very very random talk and strange little track type things. Other zoners have shows there too.
Beck, and Psycho rabbit, and Marrie1 all have things and there's probably ones i've missed, including raynbow's random chaos by thrillseeker, and the sunday special, by drop9 and sam.

I'm a staff member of hkc radio www.hkcradio.com which was founded by various new yorkers, including Nick6489 and 1800trivia as they're known on here
I like all their shows, particularly the digital domain, 2 bit radio, and rock radio redefined. I do a segment on this and i also restream alot of content from the server andre gave me at tbrn.net:8016, which is managed by time's champion and myself with others.
I listen to some 44rn shows, and the odd thing on ACB or Jammin.

I like alot of australian radio also. particularly the bench warmers with ken and dan, and the continuous call team with ray hadly and the boys for the football. some of the time though I'd preferably listen toABC's football coverage, also listen to their other sport particularly the cricket.
I don't mind the odd show on triple j particularly this sporting life, with roy and hg god those guys are helarious.

so that's me for radioland.

One of my favorite shows is "Into Tomorrow" with Dave Graveline. It is a show about technology. It airs Sunday afternoons from 2P.M. to 5P.M. on XM channel 166.

Ah. this list could be endliss. Of corse I mmust plug that I do work for Jammin853.com and do a show Friday's 6-9 PM eastern. Its a request show that plays all stuff from the last 50 years or so. Now as for regular radio which I can say I listen to most... My favoraite stuff would have to include, Rick Dees on "102.7 Kiss-FM" KIIS Loss Angelous. 102.5 WRFY/Reading, PA "Rock Hits Y102". WPST-FM/Trenton "94.5 PST - Today's Hit Music" 98.5 WBBO "G-Rock Radio" but I liked it better wen 98.5 was "B98.5" and was more or less a rock/CHR format. My faverote jock on there was Stanly Byme. I do listen to most formats though, so a lot of stations come to mind here. 107.1 WXPK AAA "The Peak" is another one of my faves... I like Z100 in NYC, CBS-FM (before they jacked it), and many others. I could talk radio, DX, Airchecks, AM Stereo for ages... so if anyone wants to talk radio, you know how to find mme. grin
